INTRODUCTION TO DANCE

INTRODUCTION TO DANCE (4 TO 7 YEARS OLD)


  • From 4 to 7 years old: Beginner / Max. 8 students
  • This class is taught in English or French.

This class will explore basic dance movements through music: body placement, coordination, balance, jumps….while stimulating imagination and promoting creativity. This class is also designed to help the young students develop concentration and gain an understanding of the classroom community. Yoona wants to share her passion with her students by making dance a pleasure during classes as well as on stage. The lessons are for children aged 4 to 7 years old (children born after July 2013 not accepted). Each course is divided in 2 sessions (mid-September to mid-June), with a performance on stage at the end of the second session.
  • Session 1 (September -December): this session will focus on technique, dance vocabulary and specific dance skills that will be used for the performance which will take place beginning of June.
  • Session 2 (January-June): this session mainly focuses on preparing the performance which will take place beginning of June. Warm up, learning of the choreography and rehearsals.
All rehearsals will count as one hour class. Some rehearsals as well as make up class will be outside regular schedule and all the groups will be gathered together. Additional fee will be asked for the costume (between 800 and 1200 B non-refundable). Every new student must take a placement test (300 baht) to ensure that he or she is placed in the most appropriate class for his or her level. Students unable to attend the test will be placed at the beginner level. Skills and previous experience of the student will determine if he/she can register in one of the classes. Professor: Yoona Crals: RAD and ADA certified teacher, with more than 20 years of experience, former professional dancer.
Class attire required: ballet leotard (no tutu), pink shoes. Hair secured off face.No jewelry.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE

CONTEMPORARY DANCE (12 to 18 years old)


  • From 12 to 18 years old: Min. 2 years’ experience (Wednesdays, 6:30pm - 8:00pm) / Max. 10 students
  • This class is taught in English or French.

Focus on creative self-expression, in a continuous search for new forms and dynamics. Develop posture, coordination and memorization with a strong focus on movement qualities using different styles of music. Yoona wants to share her passion with her students by making dance a pleasure during classes as well as on stage. The lessons are for children aged 12 to 18 years old. Each course is divided in 2 sessions (mid-September to mid-June), with a performance on stage at the end of the second session.

BALLET

A graceful and enchanting art form, ballet is a very demanding discipline, which brings strength, confidence and appreciation for music. The students will learn the fundamental elements of classical ballet through progressive exercises developing flexibility, balance and body placement. Yoona wants to share her passion with her students by making dance a pleasure during classes as well as on stage. The lessons are for children aged 7 to 18 years old. JAZZ

JAZZ CHILDREN (5.5 to 18 years old)

Exciting and fun, jazz dance is full of energy. Nowadays jazz combines dance moves from many different genres from musical theatre to street dance making for a very upbeat form of dancing. The student will learn the basics of jazz dance through warm-up, progressive exercises across the room and fun routines. The emphasis is on style, rhythm and confidence.
