On March 8th 2017, the Ambassador of France in Thailand, Gilles Garachon, and the President of Alliance Française Bangkok, Doctor Jingjai Hanchanlash, have proudly opened Alliance Française’s new digital cinema!

This beautiful 204 seats movie theater, equipped with DCP thanks to the support of CNC, Institut Français, MAEDI and UniFrance, has been really appreciated by the numerous Thai distributors attending the event.

For this occasion, an exhibition entitled « 120 years of cinema: Gaumont, since film exists » has been held in Alliance Française’s gallery from March 9th to April 30th 2017. This exhibition took the visitors on a journey into cinema history through artifacts from the Gaumont Museum ranging from film clips to posters.

Several Gaumont movies – including “Chocolat“, “Léon“, “Les Tontons flingueurs” and so on – have also been shown from March 9th to March 12th 2017. Bangkok film-lovers were captivated!

And it is not over! From now on, Alliance Ciné will show every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday French, European and Thai movies from local distributors.
