JOB OFFER: SUSTAINABLE FASHION INSTRUCTORS

Mission description:

Alliance Française Bangkok offers a new fashion course covering a wide range of topics including French Fashion History and Culture, Haute Couture, Branding, Fashion Design Techniques, and Cloth-making processes such as Designing, Sewing, and Pattern making. 

Alliance Française Bangkok is looking for fashion instructors starting January 2025. The instructors must be fashion professionals, passionate about their profession and willing to share with students the necessary theoretical, practical knowledge about fashion. Moreover, instructors must facilitate discussions and activities that encourage students to explore the cultural significance of fashion, along with providing insight into iconic designers, trends, and movements that have shaped the evolution of fashion.

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in Thai or French preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience and expertise in the field of Sustainability in fashion. Practical industry experience to provide real-world context and insights for students.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively engage and motivate students.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, developments, and research pertinent to the subject matter (if possible).
  • Creativity and openness to innovation to explore and discuss innovative solutions and approaches.

Alliance Française Bangkok is looking for instructors who can teach either 6-8 classes with 12-16 hours in total or 2-3 days of workshop with 2-3 hours per class (can be adjusted) as described below. 


Upcycling and Sustainability in Fashion

This class explores the growing importance of sustainability in the fashion industry, examining eco-friendly practices, ethical production methods, and the role of innovation in driving positive change. Awareness of the environmental and social challenges facing the fashion industry and the opportunities for positive change must be taught and raised during the class. You must deliver the information on sustainable practices, such as upcycling and ethical sourcing, and explore innovative solutions to reduce the industry's ecological footprint and promote social responsibility.

Objective of the course

  • Emphasize on upcycling fashion by using student’s own creativity.
  • Students are able to create their own clothes by reusing or upcycling the old clothes.
  • Organize the Fashion show at the end of the course. (For a long session of 12-16 hours in total).
