The sounds of Thailand from rice field to leftfield, from raw Isan countryside to Bangkok’s hip pockets.
Y/our Music immerses itself in the world of Thai music, from traditional music to labour songs, and classical pop songs to urban indie music, spanning different locales and generations. As nine musicians each display their music, their world is categorized into either the sound of the rural suburbs or the sound of the city, depending on the scenery of where they live. The hands that play traditional Thai instruments amid the red cloud of dust, the labour songs being hummed in front of grains awaiting harvest, and the indie music born out of concrete basements create a melodious ecosystem. The film intertwines different musical worlds, bringing into view the different sources of inspiration and the realities of the music industry. Though they live in different musical worlds the musicians are connected by musical scenes as they share the same passion to bring their artistic aspirations to the fore and survive in the outskirts of mainstream culture.
